Let’s be honest. It’s common for life to pull us in all sorts of directions and to become overwhelmed and unorganized in the process. The lost art of organization is something that many seek to find and obtain, but oftentimes get lost in the process. Here at SW Builders, we understand the importance of organization and how vital it is for one to succeed. Not only does the organization help you stay on track, but it also keeps you involved in the process at hand. For our business, staying organized allows us to stay on task with multiple projects occurring at the same time, and the timeline of builds and renovations to run smoothly and on time. In this blog post, we are here to provide three helpful tips on how to stay organized.
Write It Down.
Living in a digital age can many times lead our minds in one hundred different directions and we lose focus on tasks at hand. Thus, when we write down to-do lists, step-by-steps or memos of conversations we have had, this allows for quicker recall and more effective results because we are on top of things. There are multiple ways of doing this. You may purchase a planner, or scratch paper will do. You may also prefer to keep track of your thoughts, tasks, and memos via a digital means so that you can access it all on the go. Regardless of the avenue, it’s important to stay on top of what is going on by simply having a written means to look back on.
Prioritize.
An organized person can never fully succeed until they know how to prioritize tasks, to-do’s, timeline of activities, and an overall schedule. Staying organized means you know when to say ‘yes’ and when to say ‘no’. This will affect every area of your life. Ultimately prioritize and staying organized needs to begin in your mind. As soon as you can compartmentalize your to-do’s, family commitments, work obligations and so on, you can be effective in each area because you have the appropriate time designation for each.
Time To Breathe.
Finally, to stay organized you need to have time to sit back, breathe, and plan. If you want to begin organized and stay organized, you need to have time that doesn’t have commitments so you have time to write it down and prioritize. This is hard to do in the age we live in where it seems we are always on the move. Thus, plan your days intentionally. Plan your weeks intentionally. Be okay with saying ‘no’ so that you can say ‘yes’ to an organized mind and life. We can promise you this, your loved ones and you will benefit from this important life skill.
