Welcome, 2025! We are so excited for the new year and all it has to offer! When it comes to a new year, often, we can begin feeling overwhelmed with all of the new things we would like to accomplish. However, in this blog post, we would like to pivot and give some much-needed encouragement. Instead of simply focusing on what we want to do differently in 2025, we want to help you reflect on what you did well in 2024 and how to continue this year.
Reflect
Let’s reflect on 2024. It may have been a wonderful year, or a year of growth and opportunity. Maybe it had incredible highs and also some heartbreaking lows. Regardless on your personal year, we encourage you as we begin the new year to reflect on what you did RIGHT. Maybe you prioritized your family. Or perhaps you volunteered once a week at a new non-profit. Maybe it was simply prioritizing your home and getting it to a place you feel relaxed in for the first time in a decade. Remember what you did well as we begin the next step.
Build Off of Your Successes
Now that you have an idea or two of what you did well in 2024, we have the opportunity to leverage that into new ways this year. Unfortunately, we can’t provide specific ideas since every situation is unique, but we can provide a few basic guidelines to help get you started.
- Increase the Frequency
- Include a new person with you
- Go a Step Further in the Endeavor
- Find a new activity or hobby that is similar to increase your skillset
- Teach someone what you’ve learned
We hope the above list gives a start as you strive to build on your successes to an even more fruitful 2025.
Consider What May Need to Change
It’s easy when things are going well to want to simply coast and not try anything new or change. However, sometimes, the best time to try something new is when you are doing well and have your priorities in line.
Similar to the list above, when it comes to shifts we make in our lives it’s important to consider:
- Our personal health and happiness
- Our family and loved one’s fulfillment in the endeavor
- Our time management
- Assurance of bandwidth / margin in your life for unexpected events or opportunities
