As the warm weather begins to fade and the crisp air and colorful leaves begin to pop through, there is no doubt that fall is almost here. Oftentimes, the fall season can spring up on us quickly, that we can feel behind with the appropriate responsibilities the season brings.

In this blog post, we would like to provide 3 ways to prep for the fall season.

1. Change Your Outdoor Space from Summer to Fall

Our first recommendation to prep for fall is to begin outdoors. As the season becomes colder, prepping the outdoors can become less appealing over time. However, beginning early in the season allows you to soak in the warmth and aromas of fall without having a chance of a flurry in the forecast. What are some things you’d be able to prep outside for?

  • Clean Front Porch / Patio / Deck Areas
    • A deep clean makes the spaces feel fresh and also gives time to transform the areas to fall plants or appropriate furniture.
  • Bring in Summer Items that are not used
    • Think furniture, children toys / equipment, Garden Supplies etc.
  • Tend to landscape needs
    • Trim hedges, cut back overgrown plants

2. Incorporate Fall Decor in Your Home

Now that your outdoor areas are tidy, bring some of the outdoors in with some seasonal decor. Think ceramic / felt pumpkins, wreaths, throw blankets, and some fall-scented candles. This is an excellent way to make your home feel welcoming, cozy, and bring some unique colors that you typically don’t have throughout the year.

3. Consider Home Projects that may be optimal at this time

Our final recomendation is to consider any home improvement projects that may be ideal in the fall season. Many think about home projects in the warm months, but now may be the perfect time for some projects in your home.

Consider projects such as:

  • Painting
  • Updating Flooring or Cabinets
  • Changing Out Old Fixtures

There are some projects where opening your windows for fresh air can be the perfect help during a project. Don’t forget to consider what may be a good project to tackle in the next couple of months.
