We are in shock that we are already in November and the holidays are around the corner. With so many traditions and gatherings that may come, it is easy to get busy and forget about the beauty of gratitude in our lives. In this blog post, we would like to emphasize 3 practical ways to incorporate gratitude this month in your life.
Gratitude Journal
It’s easy to overlook having a thankful spirit. It doesn’t always come naturally, nor is our automatic respone. However, when thoughts of thankfulness and gratitude are written in a place that can be reviewed intentionally, we begin to see gratitude taking shape in our lives. One of our favorite ways to do this is by having a gratitude journal. This can be a notebook with bullet points listed, gratitude written in prayers, or even a journal-style with entries on what you were grateful for that day.
Asking Others What They Are Thankful For
Sometimes we need to be inspired by others to encourage ourselves to be creative in embracing gratitude. Asking your friends and family WHAT they are grateful for and WHY are excellent conversation starters. As cliche as it may sound, we all need to be reminded on the importance of choosing gratitude and the beauty of sharing that heart posture with others.
Placing Reminders Throughout the Home
Our final recomendation is to place reminders throughout your home on gratitude. This could be through signage, sticky notes, Bible verse cards, or designing an atmosphere that promotes relaxation, and a state of clarity.
We pray that as you embrace the Thanksgiving season, that your heart may be filled with gratitude for all the wonderful things there are to enjoy. If you would like to get in touch with SW Builders, fill out our Contact form here or give us a call at 616-377-7443.
