Oftentimes we think “deep cleaning”, “decluttering”, or “organization” is suppose to happen in the springtime when the weather is warmer and we start seeing the sunshine on a regular basis. As much as we are supporters in spring cleaning, what better time than NOW to start tackling some home projects you may have been dreading or even simply forgot about!

In this blog post, we would like to provide you with a few ideas to get started.

Clean “Inside” Your Spaces

Our first tip is to clean “inside” your spaces. What do we mean by this? Well just as it sounds, cabinets, closets, pantry, drawers, and dressers can all be catch-alls that end up becoming unorganized, dirty, with ineffective systems in place to keep things in order. When you go room-by-room and clean inside the spaces that are often hidden, you’ll begin to see what areas need extra TLC, more organization, or simply need a difference place to be stored.

Clean The Walls and Trim

This is not glamorous, but it is necessary in keeping a home clean and tidy. Grab a swifter with a damp microfiber cloth on the end and begin cleaning top to bottom. Then take a different cloth to do trim and any built-in/detail work you may have. We think you’ll be surprised what can accumulate just on your walls and trim alone!

Clean Out Pantry / Fridge

Our final tip is to do a deep-clean of your pantry and fridge areas. Not only is this a good way to review what you have, but it also provides an opportunity to look at expiration dates and what food or dry goods you may need to stock-up on (or take a break from purchasing). With these areas receiving traffic and constant use, they can become unorganized and dirty quite quickly. Nothing is more satisfying than grocery shopping for what you need and having a good organization system at home to properly display your goods.
