As January turns into February, more snow and cold remains in the forecast. Oftentimes, it is easy for us to remain stagnant and unmotivated when we feel trapped in our homes. Today, we are here to give a few decorating tips to transform your living space in the cold winter months.
Move One Piece of Furniture
Many times when we think of switching up space or redecorating, we assume everything needs to find a new home or space. However, this can lead us to feel overwhelmed about this daunting task. Instead, consider moving one piece of furniture. Whether that be an accent chair, ottoman, or coffee table to help the space feel fresh and different without breaking the bank or your back.
Add a New Color Accent to your Space
It is easy for our space to succumbs to neutral colors that in the end, it can feel lifeless and boring after some time. If this is the case for you, consider adding a pop of color in a few new accent pieces. A couple of our favorite colors to choose from are light green or light blue. Both of these are soft colors that can add the color you need without the space feeling overtaken by bold tones. For the accent color to be carried throughout cohesively, we recommend having 3-5 decorations or accent items with that color in it to tie everything together.
Change Up the Wall Art
Is that old painting hung over the fireplace looking a little worn and outdated? Consider purchasing a new canvas art piece, or a piece of art with a quote or scripture verse on it. This is an excellent way to freshen up space without having to move items around your living space.
Buy A House Plant
Are you looking for a fun hobby and also new decor that add color? Look no further than a houseplant! There is a variety to choose from, so you are sure to find one that fits perfectly in your space. A few of our favorites are pothos (leaf, begins to vine), spider plant (light, bushy plant), and the fiddle leaf fig (tall tree-like plant). All of these provide great variety for your home.
